About Us

The Vattikuti Foundation is a non-profit organization that supports the development and global sharing of knowledge in robotic surgery. The Foundation is dedicated to making robotic surgery and other technologically advanced surgical procedures more affordable and accessible to underprivileged the population. It has established a Network of Institutes in collaboration with hospitals all over the world and the foundation’s first initiative was to support cancer research and treatment programs in Michigan. These included donations to the Henry Ford Hospital, where the Vattikuti Urology Institute was established, and Beaumont Hospital, home to the Vattikuti Digital Breast Diagnostic Center.

The Vattikuti Collective Quality Initiative (VCQI) is a prospective robotic surgery database established by the Vattikuti Foundation to provide trustworthy material for researchers to study surgeon and patient outcomes. Vattikuti Global Robotics Multispecialty Robotic Surgery has trained more than 300 aspiring surgeons from 2012 to 2015. The Vattikuti Foundation also has Scholarship and Fellowship programs to guide and help train young Indian surgeons.

This apart, Vattikuti Foundation also focuses on creating an infrastructure to coordinate and reach out to people who are in poverty through the Poverty Alleviation Initiative program in India. The goal of this project is to reach over a million people over the next ten years. In April 2020, the foundation donated $400,000 to facilitate – in partnership with the Henry Ford Health System and the City of Detroit – on-site COVID-19 testing for all residents of the city’s 126 nursing homes and senior assisted living facilities.
